Welcome to the Data Analysis Journal, a weekly newsletter about data science and analytics.

Hello analysts, this is the very first edition of my new Sunday Q&A, where I answer your questions, follow up on notes and remarks, and share your stories.

I’ve got a backlog of your emails, and as you may have noticed, I am slow to respond. This newsletter is a passion project, not my job. I only spend 2–3 hours a week on it. And while I’d love to do more, I simply can’t. Some of the questions I get are not easy to answer and require research or context, which again takes time. I prioritize questions from paid subscribers, but even then, I’m behind. I’m sorry. I promise to address every question I’ve received - it just might take some time.

To stay accountable, I am launching this new Q&A section, where I’ll repost my answers, highlight notes and remarks, or share stories I receive from analysts. Some of the stuff I get is just wild.

To kick it off, this week, I grouped a bunch of questions into themes, starting with breaking into analytics, taking online classes, analytical thinking interview round, and the best BI tool.
