Welcome to Data Analysis Journal, a newsletter about data and product analytics. If you’re not a paid subscriber yet, here’s what you missed this month:

  • What Statistics Are Used In Data Analysis? - Must-know statistical concepts and their use cases that data analysis couldn’t happen without: Causal Inference, Estimations & Significance, Distributions, Linear Regression, Law of Large Numbers, and Central Limit Theorem.

  • The Frequency Of User Activity: SQL and Analysis - How can you measure how many users use your product daily, weekly, or monthly? Does your product have an engaged user segment (or segments) that comes back every day? How can you locate groups of power users? Read steps and SQL for creating a user activity histogram for user engagement analysis.

  • How Much Should You Invest In Influencer Marketing? - Should you invest in influence marketing to grow your product? How much do influencers earn per post? What is the expected ROI? How to estimate the impact of a marketing campaign? The math behind it all.

As an existing tradition, I’d like to start off 2023 by sharing the biggest events scheduled for this year in data analytics, data science, and data engineering to help you plan the year ahead. @Olga! Thanks for including Amplify in your list. The Conference linked here though - Amplify Con is for Dentists (?). We haven't announced our dates yet, but we will be hosting Amplify later this year in H2.
